Opening Night Reception: Saturday, June 23rd: 6 PM- 11 PM Gallery @ Fox Tax Felt Factory Arts Building 503 1st Ave NE, Mpls, MN DETAILS:Ben Moore, a Saint Paul migrant, presents his series, “Drunk Girls”, works of oil on panel painted from found photographs of unconscious intoxicated women. The paintings are an examination in vulnerability, predators, and objectification. Viewers, one step removed from voyeurism, can decide their position with the paintings as well.Telos, a Saint Paul native, will show his series “Dissonant Toys”. Works of handmade action figures are set and photographed in coordinated backgrounds. Taking inspiration from the current media landscape, he examines contradictions both within the characters themselves as well as within their situations. When context alone does not answer one’s questions, try to see the day to day as absurd and the far off as commonplace.The combination of these two artists’ provacative works will make for an engaging and memorable event that you won’t want to miss.—————————————————————————— |
