Tax deadline approaching

only two weeks left until april 15th! Our calendars have filled up fast again this year. No, it's not an April Fool's joke--almost every one of our accountants' calendars are fully booked through the deadline. If you haven't made an appointment yet, you can check online here to see if there are any openings remaining with your accountant. If you don't see any availability before April 15th, it means they're fully booked. Read on for your options. If we've already started on your taxes and just need some small item to finish up--signatures, payment or a missing form--please send that over as soon as you can!

FILE WITH US REMOTELY*: Now that there are only two weeks remaining, we can't guarantee that we will complete your return by the deadline. But if you'd like to try, you can upload your Tax Organizer and Tax Forms to our secure Online Portal here. *Depending on how busy your accountant is, they may or may not be able to wrap it up in this final stretch.

FILE AN EXTENSION: If you prefer to meet in person, but can't find a spot on our online calendar, then you'll need to file an extension. To do so, please email us with your contact information (name, address and phone) and request that we file an extension for you. You can then set up a tax appointment for a date AFTER April 15th; feel free to call us or schedule your appointment online. 

Filing an extension gives you more time to complete your paperwork, but any money owed is still due on April 15th. If you expect a refund, there are no issues requesting more time to file. If you still have taxes due, the government can assess 1/2% late payment fee per month plus a small interest rate (which isn't terribly bad if you complete your taxes soon after the deadline).
