Hi,

This has been an incredibly difficult winter for many small businesses in the Twin Cities. Between the usual Minnesota winter challenges and the disruption from the recent ICE enforcement surge, we know many of you have been dealing with reduced foot traffic, workforce concerns, and financial stress during what's already the hardest season to be a small business owner here.

We wanted to make sure you're aware of a grant program that might help:

Hennepin County is offering $3,000-$10,000 grants to businesses impacted by recent immigration enforcement.

Application Window: March 18-25, 2026 (ONE WEEK ONLY)

You may qualify if:

  • Physical location in Hennepin County serving the public (retail, restaurant, salon, etc.)
  • Revenue dropped 30%+ from Dec 2025-Feb 2026 vs. comparable period
  • Fewer than 50 employees
  • Annual revenue $25K-$4M
  • In operation 3+ months before Dec 1, 2025

Grants cover: Up to 2 months rent or mortgage payments

Apply starting March 18 at:
www.hennepincounty.gov/economic-development/programs

Questions: Elevate@hennepin.us

Start gathering revenue documentation now—you'll need to prove the 30% revenue drop, so you'll need your January/February bookkeeping up to date for 2026.

We're here if you have questions about whether you might qualify.
